And in Eternity, a Dream We Shall Be
I lay alone in all of space and time-My consciousness flows down,
Like fireworks into my brain.
My trip is quiet and surreal,
I delve into the eternal storm of the dream realm-
And Oh! What wondrous sights!
Floating in and out of created realities
I glide weightlessly through halls of memories;
And my! How they remember me so!
Through friend and foe I make my way
And I climb through the dreamy haze,
Unknown forces light my way;
He is like nothing I’ve ever known,
A universal god of times untold-
Massive is he, and how his voice does boom!
Petrified in space, I’m standing alone
And he is beginning to rise from his starry throne;
I attempt to wake, but it’s too late-
He is the size of a star,
And his fiery eyes glow white eternal flames
He speaks:
“Naïve are you waking souls,
For created are your superficial roles.”
His mouth expels lightning-
“The world perceived through the eyes,
And ideas created from the depths of minds;
What glorious lies!”
He chuckles thunder and shakes wildly,
I try once more to cease my dream, but I am trapped.
He speaks again:
“You are all but visions, and so hopelessly you cling-
I am the sleeping god, who creates your dreams,
And if you look, you will see.”
Blinded I became by such unknown light
And into darkness, I began my blight,
I fall through the layers of time;
I see it, the whole- the singular mind
And I see the great dream-
I see mankind.
Oh, what truth I’d come to know!
Every image in the eternal storm, I am shown,
And infinite dreams become my existence.
Waking quickly, I gasp for air-
I feel the haunting echo of such epic words,
And I am hollow, staring at my ceiling;
So that’s the secret, it has been said,
There’s no such life, we’re already dead-
And in eternity, a dream we shall be.
