A Snow Day in April
Snow Day in April
White fog windows, sequestered away-
What surprise I felt in my morning daze,
Pale light illuminates from all around;
And there’s tranquility in the resting town,
The dead winter rotting trees,
Have opened up to the cool spring breeze-
And gorgeous flowers sway away,
But oh! – How strange is this April day?
Flowers have come in past few weeks,
Confusion fills the small town streets-
The wind shifts about, bitter and cold;
The aesthetic brilliance is rare as gold,
Flowing and calm are the sights that I see,
But there’s something strange, tree after tree-
Clouds fade into the sky’s ocean of gray,
And my! - How odd is this April day?
White blanket, yellows, reds, blues, and greens,
Tranquility permeates, a setting most often unseen-
The April sun hides behind frosty clouds,
Young lovers caught helplessly in the snowy shroud;
Snow balls fly and snow angles lay about,
Children sing and dance, and throughout the town shout-
An April day like this will never happen again they say,
But my! How sweet was this April day!
