    BROKEN HEARTED STRIDE

SIT PONDERING WHAT LIFE HAS BROUGHT ME SO FAR
ALONG THE WAY A LIFE OR TWO TO TAKE CARE OF
THE STRIDE OF BEING A PARENT
THE OBSTCLES YOU HAVE TO FACE DAILY
SAYING DAMN TO YOURSELF I WISH I KNEW
BUT GRANDMA WAS PAVING THE WAY
WHILE GRANDPA SOW SEEDS OF THE FUTURE
THE STRIDE OFF BEING A PARENT

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
