    Clarifications, Pt. 1: Love

    Is--

    not

    the object

    but

    the action

    not

    the verb

    but

    the acting

    not

    the Act

    but

    the process.

     

    Is--

    the building up

    but

    only to the painted ledge

    not

    falling in, over

    but

    falling back

    not

    falsely

    but

    fishily expected.

     

    Is--

    the moment before

    but

    all the moments

    not

    only sweet

    but

    unsweet, unglorious

    not

    the I deal

    but

    the Idea that fuels

    not

    feeds

    but

    destroys.

     

    Is--

    myth

    but

    brought to life by conceit

    not

    concept

    but

    concreted to the mind

    not

    to the heart.

     

    Is--

    blind, true enough,

    but

    to truth

    not

    to truth we want

    but

    struggle to believe.

     

    Is--

    curiosity

    but

    concerned

    not

    with moments of happiness

    but

    Experience

    not

    attempting eternal

    but

    till the Lesson's learned.

     

    Is--

    naturally,

    Conjunction.

    This is a really interesting form for a poem. I think I like it. I think it might be interesting, also, to use other pairs of words aside from the "but/not"s in different stanzas. I think there's a lot you could do with something like that.
