Revelation

as i undress
myself before you
piece
by piece one article
of clothing
at
a time
i watch

your face your
body the way
your eyes
grow wide
and round
as if in
surprise

your hands clench
up
instinctively
and you sharply
inhale deep
and deeply

it hits me
that maybe
you didnt
after all
expect me
to be
a woman.

Um - not surprise, love - it's a matter of delight: pure delight!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
