Fairy Tail
He was her dog,
And he was young once.
Full of energy, mischief;
But his eyes were ageless,
And she knew his secret.
He was a shape changer,
Human in animal skin,
Concealed by a canine face.
He lay at night, when everyone else
Stretched sleeping in the dark, at her feet,
Until she would crawl to him
In the darkness and fit her body
To his warmth. And she believed
That she could change him back,
Back into the Prince he was;
Oh yes, she knew his secret.
But in the dark there never grew a
light, no magic and no fire glow,
And he grew old and stiff and sad.
So she grew too, and twisted in her grief
that he never saw his secret
which is why he never changed.
And he was young once.
Full of energy, mischief;
But his eyes were ageless,
And she knew his secret.
He was a shape changer,
Human in animal skin,
Concealed by a canine face.
He lay at night, when everyone else
Stretched sleeping in the dark, at her feet,
Until she would crawl to him
In the darkness and fit her body
To his warmth. And she believed
That she could change him back,
Back into the Prince he was;
Oh yes, she knew his secret.
But in the dark there never grew a

And he grew old and stiff and sad.
So she grew too, and twisted in her grief
that he never saw his secret
which is why he never changed.
