    Poem Commentary

    this was written for my friend's daughter who will be a year old in February

    Danielle

    So beautiful and innocent

    So pure and so smart

    I am in awe when I look at you

    This person who wasn't here

    Such a short time ago

    But now she lights up every room

    Your future is so bright

    You have every opportunity open to you

    So many people who love you

    I can't wait to watch you grow

    Everyday

    It's a wonderful treat

    To be there while you laugh and play

    And as you grow

    I hope you will never let that

    Beautiful innocence go away
