Desire
Let me kiss you with the kisses of my mouth for your love is better than wine.
Tell me whom my soul loveth did you know that you are the fairest among women, by night on my bed I sought you whom my soul loveth but found you not.
You ravished my heart and soul, my sister, my spouse. Your lips O my spouse taste as honeycomb and under thy tongue is the taste of milk, many waters cannot quench my love for you nor can a flood drown it.
If this man is to be my beloved’s desire then sit me as a seal upon your heart, for love is as strong as death.
To my beloved I speak and say unto you, rise my love, my fair one and come away with me. Make haste my love for the time is near, use your voice and cause me to hear.
She is my beloved, my spouse and my friend as in the lord, her I too trust. In my distress I cried out to the lord and he heard me, my trouble and anguish had taken hold of me, so I now cry to come near you O Lord, give me understanding according to your word and your love.
I am here to let God’s hand help me for I have chosen my beloved, my spouse to do good O Lord.
Unto those that are good, also to them that are upright in their hearts, as my beloved is to me….
