If

What if most things that have gone wrong
were your fault.
If the way a child looks at the world
was all to do with the way you did things.
What if it was not what you say and do,
but the way we did it in there sight
and hearing
or worst of all the things you forgot
to show and say.
Can a man show a boy how to be a man
if he is not at home.
Can a woman do the same for a girl
if she fights to keep up in a man's world?
So now I ask you,
What if it all was on you.
Can you make a change, to change it for all,
What If...?

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
