Devious Exchange

Sleeping in darkness, falling away

Dying my heart rips, consumed I fade

Will you watch me die?

Will you watch me bleed?

There’s no reason why

I just want you to see

See what real suffering is

Only if you show me what its like to live

I might never know on my own

My life is despair I never had a home

So open your soul and let me find

All your dreams you keep inside

Share with me the secrets you keep

And I will share the pain you seek

i love this one....the last line is my favorite line...people often flirt with pain but never really want to find it....thank you for putting that into words

I think this poem is awesome. I really like the second line and how creative your are with your words. A good poem is not only a feeling but a story. You have done well with both.

Thank you very much!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
