dusty little book

At first I thought I was closed
you made me realize that I was just set aside.
I collected alot of dust sitting on that hidden shelf,
somehow you looked past all the fancy covers
you saw a dusty little book.

You started to pull back the faded cover,
i was hidden for sometime without anyone noticing
the book gave alot of resistance.
Now all I hope for is you to come back and look inside the pages you forgot to turn...

Wonderful, just like those dusty little books always turn out to be. I like the concept of the book doing the talking. Very nice.

A poetic tie between a neglected book and a past experience still lingering.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
