demise

Watch the world as it passes
looking through these thin clear glasses.
I see the world as it goes,
I feel things no one knows.
Why is my heart so tight,
under this flimsy sheet of white?
Please don't let me die this way
I want to live another day.
Please don't bury me i plead
I'll be the perfect child you need
God don't make this my last dance,
give me animation, just one more chance.
I didn't mean to become so drunk,
So why god this eternal bunk?

Pleading with God to give one time to continue with life after an almost fatal mistake.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
