    Poem Commentary

It could be humanity's oldest story of doomed love. Archaeologists have unearthed two skeletons from the Neolithic period locked in an eternal embrace and buried outside Mantua, Italy, just 25 miles south of Verona, the city where Shakespeare set the star-crossed tale of Romeo and Juliet. After being found at the site where a factory is planned, people worldwide have speculated on the circumstances surrounding the couple's deaths. They are thought to have died young because they both had all their teeth intact. But beyond that, the skeletons are a mystery. Archaeologists announced Monday that they will move the entire block of earth the skeletons are resting in for further study and eventual display in a museum. cnet news Feb 12 2007

    Eternal Embrace

I remember the day you told me
    you loved me
I remember how it changed me
the way I felt about life
    about myself

    That day
I lost every dream I ever had
    lost them all
to the hope of a new dream
One that could reach beyond touch
    and last forever

This is so amazing- Love the picture, too. I truly love these simple lines. Just absolute and positive in it's structure! Beautiful writing.

you've captured the spirit of the image wonderfully - weird that you'd think skeletons would be a bit more macabre, but really - it's sweet. you already know you're talented so I won't stroke your ego here - but I really like what you did with this. 10

you put a nice optimistic spin on this, which is very nice! I look at this pic and see her (smaller) either dead or dying, and him, unwilling to live without her, laying down and dying of a broken heart. Well done!
