    Tomorrow

    Here, surrounded by such greatness
    I am only a man
    with thoughts in my mind
and this world in my hands

    Trying to forge a life

    one worthy of remembrance
Swimming in this pool of dreams
before the sun sets on sentience

Finding love in the eyes of hope

believing in more than I can see
Finding my own meaning of success
    chasing my own destiny

    The future that awaits

    a story to be told
    Words cannot describe
the importance of what I hold

This is very poetic and poignant in it's verse, it derives a sense of responsibility and honor simultaneously in being a parent.

You wonder; you hope; you dream of what life will bring to them as you first hold them and then they grow up, go to college and only call or write to ask for money, smile. Ah, What comes arounds, goes around. It reminds me of Harry Chapin's "Cats in the Cradle" and these lines from the lyrics: "And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me/ He'd grown up just like me/ My boy was just like me". Bravo, well done.

That song was popular when I was in college and it made me think of my parents and how fast I had grown up.

Angel has said it very well what I would have liked to say as a compliment and appreciation of this beautiful piece. My literary complaints are just the same., as usual........I am tired of making the same complaint about RPT 40's poetry........LOL... But my admiration and wonder have no bounds, RTP40, you have struck some powerful heart-string chords in G minor here. Do you play the guitar?............................LOL "Finding love in the eyes of hope believing in more than I can see Finding my own meaning of success chasing my own destiny." You say here, your profession of faith in the future, like i a pearl in an oyster shell, what volumes of books have failed to do convincingly. .. . My rating for a wide and deed range of poignancy is 10x10+

    Thank you

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
