    Eye in the Darkness

    Glowing in the darkness
    Watching and waiting.
    Growing with each passing night.
Some nights fogged over by the eerie night mist,
Others so bright it chases all the others away.
Sometimes white, yellow, or even blue or red.
    Always watching and waiting.
    Looking for something, someone?
    What is it?
    Who is it?
    What is it waiting for?
The eye in the darkness follows as I walk through the night.
As it comes fully open it begins to shut once more.
Until I no longer can see it.
    But I know it's there.
    Always watching and waiting.
    But for what?
The eye in the darkness follows as I walk through the night.
    Glowing in the darkness,
    The eye in the darkness.

    Night thoughts appear!

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
