Poem Commentary

One can imprison oneself in a situation with the power of your mind and how freedom can been seen in the reflection of another looking back at you...

Fight On

The words rain down like a thunderstorm

As lightning flashes and new pain is born

She retreats to their bed to hide until dawn

To disappear like a thief sneaking out in the morn

She clings to faith

If you put your hands together she will fight on

A fragile heart and a beautiful soul

Needs wrapping up in love to make her feel once again whole

No limit on love a truly special gift

Misguided in love as she craves her own piece of bliss

She clings to hope

If you put your hands together she will fight on

She presents each day as a brave smiling face

Make up at the ready to get her veil in place

Nobody truly pays attention to her distracting show

She is mindful who is listening because no one should know

She clings to charity

If you put your hands together she will fight on

A hero appears strong and wise

Distraction pierced to see beyond the disguise

The door is opened the light shines in her eyes

No longer the maid a queen she will arise

She clings to love

If you put your hands together she will live on

Passion you have an insightful mind. Most confuse the hero for a man of her dreams, as opposed to the man of her faith. Thank you for your insightful comment.

very interesting. It reminded me of a single mother who fights each day through the obstacles of life. A woman who clings to her faith for a better tomorrow until one day the sickness that has plagued her for years finally takes her and she is face to face with the Lord and at that moment she is no longer struggling and she is no longer a maid to a world of wolves but instead she is a queen risen to the heavens with the Lord... But , thats just what I got out of it lol . Good work ! I like your style.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
