Long time has past for these two troubled soulsSeems like forever, even though Lord only knows
That her pain was severe enough for him to notice
that when she was with others there's a broken promise
to love honor and obey this other never knew
but with this distant love that could make this true
he held her close but she pushed him far away
please don't come near you can hear her say
years after they reunited he staid this distant friend
promising her that his life with her will last til the end
she eventually broke free from this grip her past had held
and with him after so long, she finally let her heart swell
with love he offered her and safe keeping for life
we all know how love is with a true husband and wife
