Poem Commentary

I think this might be one of me first dark poems. As all exist in us it was bound to show itself. Don't be afraid to delve.

Flotation Device(Blowfish syndrome)

Hold your breath
Count to ten
Rise to the surface
Peek your head
meds submerge
An urge to purge
yet one suppresses
those that are meant to be felt
the unreal melts
When I asked you for help
You said "Here take one of these and breathe"

And you wonder at my rage
Placed in a pill box cage

Hold your breath
Count to ten

Fuck it.
I'm counting to the end
Blowfish Syndrome
For both yours and my protection.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
