For Kim "Killer" Tsinigine
Twelve years has passed
Yet writing to you is still so hard to do
Much time has been spent in forgetting the past
In that time there was no forgetting about you
I've always known you were near
When a warm candle flickered
When a calm day sent a cool breeze
I felt you the closest as the rain started to fall
Silence descended and your face is all I saw
I miss you as much today
As I did when I was fourteen
I'm still awaking up to wishing
It was all just a bad dream
I thought I saw you the other day
I swore I passed you by
Still wearing that borrowed blue shirt
The one you always fail to return
You turned my way
Just as I was going to wave
But she didn't have your face
She wasn't your smiling your smile
I picked up my tears
Gathered them into one big pile
Then I realized it was today
Today would've been your 26th birthday
Where would you be?
Who would you be?
Would you remember us at fourteen?
When you became an angel that fateful year
Our friendship, our sisterhood became stronger
We have careers of our own now
We have children of our own now
We remember what it was to be fourteen
Classes, books, and our school team
But it will always be that one bond
That set everything apart
You our sister, everyone's waking dawn
We've changed along with age
Years have taken away our youth
You're still missed when that old song plays
You're missed when I need to hear the truth
The noise drowns
The rain drums at my window pane
You'll be remembered forever at fourteen
Our memories won't ever fade
I'll remember you always Kimbo, Killer, Kimberly
We'll have to play that game you promised
And I want my shirt back, I know it isn't lost
I love you sister
Talk to me sometime
Even if you have to whisper
I'll be here listening
It's you I'll always be missing
Yet writing to you is still so hard to do
Much time has been spent in forgetting the past
In that time there was no forgetting about you
I've always known you were near
