Never Ending Pasta

Re: Never Ending Pasta

Cool it you guys
Let us sit ourselves ,down
Studly’s Pagliachi frown
Looks like tragedy’s clown
How come when I left,
Reminiscent of kids
All the fighting came down?
Boobilah says we should all hit the town
So I think it’s time Pape bought bubbly around.

Re: Never Ending Pasta

Hello my good friends'
just thought I'd sit in.
The best thing with pasta,
this bottle of vin.
It's good conversation,
and I'd like to say,
nothing goes better
with an endless buffet.

Rigatoni Campagnolo
Penne Pasta with Porcini
Rotolo Gorgonzola
Cannelloni, Cappellacci

Studly, dear I have no remorse
even when I eat like a horse.
This pasta bowl is simply divine
the chef, of course, is a friend of mine.

Seven Deadly Zins,
my new favorite wine;
the most sinful sins
are these friends of mine.

Sweet heart, a girl does
what a girl has to do.
Surely you know
that it all was for you.

Re: Never Ending Pasta

Just thought I would throw this in...mainly to get the stud to scratching his unswarthy hat. Oh, and why are the studs fonts so bold all the time ?

All the pretty fioris have bloomed
And the farfalle are up and flitting
Oh, but one must run away on rotelle
As acini di pepe come peeking.

And woe, there are vermicelli
In the lasagna, frying nicely.
Fueled by the gnocchi embers.
Soon, happily sated we will be.

Then we’ll roll up our manicotti,
And with our trusty penne zitas
Scroll rigatoni, a poetic design
Smile, and fly as a spatzle does.

Re: Never Ending Pasta

Bruschetta, zuppa and tiramisu;
Italian delights, to name just a few,
I'm weary of trying to write with the art
of finding a word that rhymes with fart.

Gogant, you did well, thank you for that.
Studly are you scratching your unswarthy hat?

Let's comment on food,
without being rude,
let's talk about wine;
Carneros Rombauer is fine.

Step up to the plate,
let's our appetites sate
the waiters are tiring
and the chef is expiring.

I think Granpa slid down under the table
but we'll continue this feast, as long as we're able.

Re: Never Ending Pasta

Studly, I've warned you gently,
now thrice.
Speaking of bowels
just isn't that nice.
My dear, you've killed all
your friend's appetites.

Re: Never Ending Pasta

Yes, dear, I know what the Italian words mean.
I read them while in the chef's kitchen so clean.
His cookbook was open and the recipe's there
read just like poetry, in verses so fair.
Ingredients spelled out a new romance, I fear,
as Chef whispered "posso essere il tutor" in my ear.

Studly, dear Studly, I can't seem to translate
for the meaning is murky
in the words you narrate.
I'm fickle, 'tis true but charming and quirky
And just today, on this very date
I have learned how to perfectly stuff a turkey!
Soon we will celebrate Thanksgiving Day!

Re: Never Ending Pasta

I've been in the kitchen, stirring the pots
I can tell you the food is infested not
with vermin or rats
or pit bulls or cats.

Someone please pour the fine bubbly
to refill the glass of dear Studly.
It's seems that he's drunk
of that noxious cold duck.

Re: Never Ending Pasta

Hello JadedJezzabel, finally we meet.
Let's get our own table, there's pasta to eat.
Let studly and faith go off on their own.
I noticed you walked in the restuarant alone.
You don't have to worry, I'm just a nice guy
who thinks that you have one beautiful eye.
I sat and I listened, they forgot I was there.
I'm happy to move and find fresher air.
I honestly don't think they'll notice I'm gone.
Their malodorous chat seems to go on and on.
Though I wasn't included, they do have a right,
to privately chat in the restaurant tonight.
I'd be honored dear Jaded, if you'd have a seat,
and may I remind you, there's pasta to eat.

Re: Never Ending Pasta

Relax my dear studly, you have a date.
The good wine had me in an amorous state.
The pasta's delicious the mood was divine.
I guess I am drunk, having had too much wine.
I'll take myself home, alone, not with her.
I appologize if I offended you, sir. cool smile

Re: Never Ending Pasta

Oh boy, studly is lurking somewhere out back
and I'm sure he ain't gonna be pleased with that.
So Miss Jessabel you best be gone when he slips in
for he will undoubtedly be wearing that darn hat

So let us just quietly and sneakily, retreat from here,
cause he will be gunning for anything in his wake.
He may be fatter than the average blue whale,
but his uncanny aim is enough to make anyone shake.

I'll follow you gals... vampire or is it this snake

Re: Never Ending Pasta

The intent was for friends to have a few rhymes
on the subject of pasta and maybe the wine.

What do you think friends, we make a new call
As my mother taught me, say nothing at all
if you can't say something nice.

Why can't we just be kind?

Wouldn't the world be a better place?

It has to start somewhere, where better than a poetry forum?

We all have enough hurts without adding more. Let's enjoy the poetry, if not the pasta!

If I've offended I'm sorry, I am still new to this site
as a child of the sixties, I just want to make nice.

Peace and Love!

Re: Never Ending Pasta

They clasped hands and strolled out the door
Looking back at he mess all over the floor
Arms wrapped ‘round one another
Each hoping to spend the night as new lovers

Re: Never Ending Pasta

For both had been hurt
many times in the past;
the hope was to find
a love that would last.

They walked out of the door,
and onto the street,
He was quite gallant
and she was so sweet.

They both were in need
of a completely fresh start.
They opened their minds
and opened their hearts.

Re: Never Ending Pasta

..But now Madelynn enters; to see whats in store,
She looks r'ound slowly, at pasta no more!
Now she came hungry and alone,no one in hand,
Was invited by Studly, thought her company was planned.

ALL the lovers have paired off, and now I sit and dine alone,
thats fine; More wine for my lips, I wont get caught in a fight zone.
Although I must admit, wine tastes better with a lover or friend,
Maybe Ill stay a bit longer-then the music wont end.

The violin sings a song: an Italian lullaby I think
Is anyone coming back for a dance or a drink?
If not its fine, Ill put out the candles, go home alone--not sad
~The truth is..I am actually the BEST lover that-I-have ever had!

Re: Never Ending Pasta

My favorite is eggplant
Parmigiana that is
with a side of linguine
for pasta dish
al dente the texture that
suits me just fine
tomatoes marinara a
topper sublime
while many prefer soggy
washed down with their wine
fresh parmesan would
be my first request
or even a cheese
brought in by a guest
a crusty Italia loaf
buttered garlic galore
is better than sliced bread
you buy in the store
this my contribution
to pasta lovers on OP
who've stated whatever
concerning semolina

(I think I petered out at the end)
Must need pasta!
ty Studly and fellow poets for such fun!

Re: Never Ending Pasta

Madelynn, Ginga, I'm so glad to see you!
We are blessed with your presence, I'm happy to meet you!
Let's drink of the wine and start the first course
I'm sure you're aware, I eat like a horse.

Antipasto, calamari, mozzarella pomodoro?
carciofini e funghetti? vongole posillipo?
This menu is poetry to my eyes and ears.
Here's to the fine wine and friends, "Cheers!"
