From Paradise to Paradise
The sun, the moon, the sky and sea
Declare the God of grace,
The mountaintops, the valleys low
Are mirrored in His face.
The order of the universe
Created by His word,
He spoke into existence
This place we call the world.
In God's first perfect paradise
All was good for man,
Until an evil tree appeared
Born from the pride of one.
This angel lifted up in pride
Appeared there to deceive
The woman loved by God's first son,
The woman known as Eve.
He introduced a way to man
Through that evil tree,
A knowledge he could be like God
By his morality.
First woman born from Adam,
Mankind's federal head,
Created perfect at the first
Are now created dead.
In trespasses and sin
We come into this world
Until in Christ we're born anew,
Quickened by His word.
When Adam sinned he cast this race
Into a world of sin,
And by man's moral conscience,
Mankind seeks to enter in --
To the paradise of God.
He feels his goodness will supply
His entrance into heaven;
This is the devil's lie.
The evil tree was good for food
And pleasant to the eyes,
A tree to be desired,
A tree to make one wise.
The evil tree produced a way
That seems right unto a man,
The end thereof the ways of death,
So God sent his second Son --
To die upon another tree,
And through His precious blood,
We gain entrance into paradise,
Because our God is good --
And provided man the tree of life
Through Jesus Christ the Son,
So paradise once lost to man
Can once again be found.
Two trees hold the choices,
Two trees stand in view,
One separates the man from God,
One creates the man anew.
The first man of the earth,
Formed from the earthly sod;
The second man from heaven,
The begotten Son of God.
In Adam we all die,
In Christ we're made alive.
Salvation comes from Heaven,
And yet we see men strive --
To seek another way,
And not the way that's true;
To enter God's pure paradise
There's nothing we can do --
But trust in the one Savior,
The only way there is
For entrance into paradise,
For eternal life and bliss.
Out of paradise into paradise
Mankind runs the sinful race,
Seeking any way but Jesus
To find this heavenly place.
Heaven cannot be attained
By works which we have done;
The only way to enter in
Is through the blood of One.
The Son of God stood in our stead,
For sin He paid the cost;
By trust in what He's done for us,
We are no longer lost.
In this veil of tears we travel,
Our sin nature is revealed,
And to the true and living God
Nothing is concealed.
From dust we were created
And to dust we shall return;
The Potter has the power
To lead us to His Son.
Through Adam we are firstborn
And spiritually dead.
God's second born provided life,
For He stood in our stead.
Man walks this world in darkness
And blinded to the light,
Until the God-breathed word
Opens darkened eyes to sight.
Then we see the light of heaven
And the joy that does await,
When we leave this world of sin
And enter into heaven's gate.
Declare the God of grace,
The mountaintops, the valleys low
Are mirrored in His face.
