Getting Through Life

You are so far away from where I am.

I miss you more than I have ever missed before.

Driving is my get away from all the goings on around here.

I listen to love songs to remind me why I breathe in and out.

Life has never been so busy and sometimes I need to remind myself to breathe.

I sing at the top of my lungs for the world to know that I feel.

But life does not suck as bad as I think it does right now.

It's midnight and I’m writing away the pain of another lonely night.

Pictures on the wall talk to me.

They tell me that I’m crazy...

Crazy to wait for "the love of my life"... my short life.

You aren’t here to drown out their voices.

You aren’t here to hold my hand through the lonely night.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
