God, Please

God, Please

God, please direct our path,
guide our way,
and walk with us always,
in Jesus' name, amen.
We got lost today,
not just another day.
Ended up in a city
we did not know
but stayed on seventh avenue.
I began to notice an obscure
but familiar highway sign,
which comforted me.
I could have been panicking.
Lost in a city I did not know
but was comforted by the road signs.
Then seventh avenue turned
into the highway,
which turned into the freeway
that took us home,
and we never made a turn.
God, thank you for
directing our path,
guiding our way,
and (driving) with us always,
in Jesus' name, amen.

This is a true story. It's a prayer I just started praying, and it's good to know how God answers all our prayers.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
