Graduation Letter
You're starting another chapter in your life
And while you're excited to move on it's hard for me not to cry.
It's obvious that this is the best thing for you
I hope you meet friends quickly and your troubles are few.
The smile on my face is sincere, but beneath the joy and felicity
I wish with all my heart that you didn't have to leave.
Know that I love you, and I'll miss you
When I'm walking through the halls and I can't find your face.
Don't forget the laughter and the pain we worked through
All the memories we have that cannot be erased.
I know this isn't goodbye, but I still find it hard to say
Life without you just won't be the same.
Go run to your dreams, they're waiting just around the bend
But remember I'll always be here, your best friend.
You've been planning this moment for a long time
And now it's here and you can't wait to leave the past behind.
You've got that radiant glow on your face
You're so happy that you've finally crossed the finish line of this race.
I knew that someday it would have to end, but I didn't think it would come so fast.
But I know that you're thinking, "It's finally come at last."
