Grateful Treasure
Trouble, trouble all around,When one circle is broken, another comes down.
Sorrow piles on sorrows, creating a heap,
Unsteady ground, for my unsteady feet.
The sun rises a new day arrives,
Still my hopes crashes, no good survives.
My best friend is darkness, evil is my ally,
Good is far from me, great distance am I.
Future looks bleak, I'm slave to despair,
Cannot give up, must be something still there.
I've lost loved ones, so tender, so dear,
Pools of water created from anguished tears.
Unmovable mountains, goals not yet reached,
Blanket is failure, my bed is defeat.
Heart made of glass, fragile and breakable,
Scared to love, confidence too shakeable
Falling many times, but ever getting up,
Not staying down, not buried in muck,
As long as a day comes, and show its head,
I will go on, because not yet dead.
Sure I am low, down in elevation
But falling and getting up, my cause for celebration.
Life is not over, victory still possible,
Just keep getting up, mentally unstoppable.
Then in the end will find my result,
Peace from within, from not giving up.
Will always have issues, full of trouble and strife,
But a grateful treasure, this thing called life.
