Hello, Can You Hear Me Now?

Hello, Can You Hear Me Now?

One day, I heard God’s voice calling to me

Just as quiet and as still as it could be.

He said “It’s me on the line, please answer my call.”

I was slow to pick up and didn’t answer at all.

The next time he called, I was at home alone,

On a three-way call on my touch-screen cell phone.

God rang me again, but He got my voicemail.

I’d escaped prayer again, but somehow I knew He’d prevail.

He tried my line again, while I was watching TV

My favorite show was on and it was holding me.

I’d get back to him, if not today, then the next.

Surely he had other people to call; perhaps he could send me a text.

He spoke to me again while I was on my job

Urging me to spend more time with God.

I informed the Lord of the rules about prayer at work

And I assured him that I’d pray when I got to church.

He kept trying to reach me, with each passing day

To get me to kneel down on my knees and pray.

Just a little bit of my time was all he’d need

And I’d gain something from the prayer indeed.

Early one morning, he woke me in bed,

To get me speak life to things that were dead.

He shook and turned me until I felt weak.

But the moment he let up, I went back to sleep.

I told the Lord that when my schedule was free

I’d make the time for Him and me.

I’d pray much more if my calendar wasn’t full.

I’d hear his voice and acknowledge his pull.

So I made up my mind to do what was right.

To be devoted to prayer, all day and night.

I would no longer ignore his call or his voice.

I’d seek him in prayer, not by force, but by choice.

I’d give of myself, to spend time more time with God.

I’d stay in prayer whether times were good or hard.

I’d pray for others, forsaking myself.

I’d answer God’s call to pray for peace, healing and wealth.

Since I’ve committed to take more time to pray

I seek the Lord’s presence each and everyday.

We’re closer than ever and I’m just like “WOW”

I don’t wanna hear God say “Hello, Can You Hear Me Now?”
