Helpless

Helpless

Helpless is she down on her knees,
Eyes to the sky's

Asking God to raise her from depression
and use of self medicated drug addictions.
Praying that she would be like she used to be;
a strong black mother of four.
She can't take it any more she wants this to be over.
She's tired of her demons taking over.
She hides her pain, fear, love, sadness, madness, and
everything else behind a white substance.
Helpless was she
But still down on her knees
and eyes still to the sky's
Still asking God to allow her to keep clean.
Everyday is a struggle for my Mother
But I Still Love Her.

Thank you

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
