PLAY

I LOVE THE WAY YOU PLAY
BECAUSE I LIKE THE WAY YOUR BODY SWAY.
YOUR FAR AWAY TODAY SO THERE IS NO TIME FOR YOU AND I TO PLAY.
 I'M SO MAD BECAUSE OF WHAT I CAN NOT HAVE;
LAUGHTER
MOANING
TOUCHING
LOVING
KISSING
ALL OF WHAT I AM MISSING.
HOPING YOU COME HOME SOON
MAYBE A TIME BEFORE NOON.
MY BODY IS NAUGHTY AND WANTS YOUR BODY.
WE WILL BECOME ONE AND PLAY A GAME THAT DRIVES OUR BODY INSANE
OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
