    Him

I journey far on the wind swept into vacant rooms,
    Howling at the emptiness
    Its food my soul
    Scraping my thoughts along
    as painful as the razor-burn
On the planes of his face
    Heart shuttered against him
    Straining to protect myself.
Yet he creeps in under the door,
    Leaving the cold air behind.
As long as he is there,
    A signs says "No Vacancy".
    The sad gale screams outside,
Enraged at what it can'g possess.
No room for the wind, my love,
    Only you and me.

Fascinating piece. Interesting personification of the gale "the sad gale screams outside" like being the wind.

I really like this one. It reminds me of an old vampire story.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
