How The Groover Got Its Name

River rafting was carefree and fun,
but that has changed for everyone.
"Carry our your waste", the ranger said.
Men found a way that women dread.
An ammo can without a seat
became a toilet that shut real neat.
Men were tough and didn't mind
that it left grooves on one's behind.
Now seats are fitted on those cans,
but they're still called groovers to river rafting fans.

I love this! I think it's very funny and witty - I was laughing hard at the end! You have a great sense of humor! Keep it up!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
