I thought you knew me.

I thought you knew me.

I thought that you knew me,
page by page,
Chapter by chapter
Turn up side down,
I thought you knew all.

I walked head high,
Proud that somebody
For once, had me in her heart.
Abuses and embarrasement,
All I was immume,
Because I thought you knew me.

I feel so disappointed,
But I won't let it,
Weigh me down again.
Am greatful for all this.
You help me feel proud of myself
And that, I will remember you for.
I walk away with a gratitude heart,
Though hurt,
But I know someday,
All these will be at my back.
I thought you knew me.

I think this poem has great metaphores, but to whom the poet speaks to is sad. How many times we might read a book, yet miss words or pages that are not quite understood. However, what is important is the reader keeps reading to try to understand.

Writes always hide in the character they use in their writing. Even if it a fictional story, a writer will always represent him/herself. in this poem i am the persona.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
