I wish I could be anywhere
I only see women on a computer screen
only kiss pages of a magazine
never get to sleep unless alone
no person calling on the phone
I think I’d rather live in the old west
at least I’d never fail to do my best
hang at the brothel drinking hard
carry around a gun inside the yard
I wish that I could be anyone
besides the one you left behind
we could do whatever we please
and you could wear whatever you tease
but instead its vodka and loneliness
music blaring really loud
I can’t make any more mistakes
the ones I’ve made have made me proud
sometimes I stare up at the stars
and see you still distance yourself
will you ever see me again
will I ever be in good mental health
maybe we can promise one thing
in this life so short and bleak
I can say I will see you
and you’ll say you will see me
then I could get one last chance
in the next life at least
to be a man you will respect
and one I need to be
and life could then be so easy
only kiss pages of a magazine
never get to sleep unless alone
no person calling on the phone
I think I’d rather live in the old west
at least I’d never fail to do my best
hang at the brothel drinking hard
carry around a gun inside the yard
I wish that I could be anyone
besides the one you left behind
we could do whatever we please
and you could wear whatever you tease
but instead its vodka and loneliness
music blaring really loud
I can’t make any more mistakes
the ones I’ve made have made me proud
sometimes I stare up at the stars
and see you still distance yourself
will you ever see me again
will I ever be in good mental health
maybe we can promise one thing
in this life so short and bleak
I can say I will see you
and you’ll say you will see me
then I could get one last chance
in the next life at least
to be a man you will respect
and one I need to be
and life could then be so easy
