    Fighting Brother

In darkness and agony you fight beside
With hope not named but held in chests
As you remember your last sweet goodbye
In battle your maker and you shall be met

As you watch the light fall from his eyes
And are close enough to feel his last breath
Remember he died for you and all
To end all hate that he can end

Your brother not by blood but by fighting hope
By the bond you promise to never go
To remain by his side even if he asks you leave
You stay to die and fight though you grieve

For land and king is not why you stay
For the brother that you so much need
He is gone but you shall not forget
The things he loved and those he’ll miss

Hope won’t stay for very long
It merely comes in seconds of time
But remembering how it once was
You fight to take it back and make it fine

Now your thoughts have gone into a dream
For you lay beside your friend in death
But somewhere beyond this earthly realm
God will pay to you this dying debt

The lands may change and rulers too
Much different in ways but always the same
But you fought for others never you
In time though they die and their names

It will be made right some believe it so
In life though god didn’t ease your pain
He will do so when he can in his time
Make your days forever bright not gray

If you feel you want to write about it then do so. Please again let me know what you think of my poems and plz be honest

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
