    In My Head

Sometimes I sit and ponder, about things from my past,

I wonder about the wrongs I've done, and people that did not last.

I confuse myself daily and it's hard to clear my head,

I find myself in a moody state, regretting things I've said.

Often I'm nostalgic, wishing to regain my youth,

A time when all that mattered were friends and the extensive quest for truth.

It seems there is always something now, that doesn't go as planned,

The stress and worry of being grown up is such a large demand.

What happened to the girl I was, happy and carefree,

I distantly look at who I've become, and I don't even recognize me.

I suppose that is the way life goes, we grow with determination and clenched fists,

For with every passing year from birth, innocence seizes to exist.

very true and very nicely done

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
