Letting Go
It hurts so bad
I can not breathe,
please tell me that
it's all a dream.
That you didn't say
you can't do it anymore,
you didn't ask me to turn
and walk out the door.
To walk out on this love
and all that we've made,
tell me my love
why are you afraid?
Why must we do this
again and again,
can we please compromise
and both of us win?
Inside I'm empty
my stomach keeps turning,
my heart and my soul
and my body are yearning.
To hold you again
smell the scent of your skin,
to be wrapped in your warmth,
to feel you with in.
No I can't do it,
I've got to be strong,
this pain and confusion
has gone on too long.
I'll no longer do this
I will not be wronged,
It's time to let go,
It's time to move on.
