    IN THE SHOWER

Our bubble bath is a battlefield
The end of the cold war
    Trapped in a match box
We are ready to be lit
My fingers are writing a new poem
    Fisherman opening up oysters
    Looking for a delicate pearl
    Sea lions searching for food
    Our first day of summer
    The flowers are blooming
Moans from the deep of the Amazon
    The Roars of hungry tigers
    I run to the mountains
An eclipse is filling up the moon
    Stings from deadly man rays
Loco motor’s steam engine is on
    The speed of the metro
    Kids on a merry-go-around
The Manhattan tunnels on rush hour
    The levees are overflowing
You are a tropical rain forest
I’m the shuttle leaving the station
Where the whales come out for air

What lovely visions you create of nature. Just seeing what you describe makes one want to pack and leave at once.

I love this. I feel like I've taken a trip without ever having to leave my chair.

emotions run deep and sometimes we are so involved that words are like bold colors that leave a fury of contrast yet confusion as to what we are conveying.I can relate.

Great poem. Good job! Thanks! liked the imagery.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
