Let Us Pray (Father, forgive me)

Only you can judge me; I wonder what's your verdict
Born in your image but I will never be perfect

Send me a sign, I need something to believe in
I've sinned in my life and feel gulity for even breathin'

Forgive me for my past because I've learned from my mistakes
Just let me repent for however long it takes

When I fell from grace, you were there to help me stand
For you I'll keep going because that is your demand

Somedays I get frustrated and I feel like I'm stressed
Then I look at the world around me and realize that I'm blessed

You and I are the only ones that really know my pain and -
I apologize for the times that I've taken your name in vain

I've made promises to you and you came through in the clutch
Your plan will soon unfold so, there's no need to rush

So when you feel its my time, I'll be here to give you praise and -
I'll ask you for forgiveness for the rest of my days

Believe me, brother, I know the feeling too well. You've expressed it powerfully here. In my experience, redemption begins with learning not to repeat your mistakes and having the courage to forgive yourself. It ain't easy, but nothing worthwhile ever is.

    THANK YOU!

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
