Life to Live

In a world that demands perfection,
Racing in a life with only one way streets
Making decisions at lightning speed
It’s only a matter of time before suffering a concussion at impulse’s fate
Stop! Slow down! Bring it back, rewind if you have to!
Have we forgotten we are in control of us?
Remove the collar that you desperately fought to obtain
I’d rather have my own mind then receive commands like a dog
We so easily forget about the lines we’ve drawn
The security we’ve removed, we’ve grown so comfortable to the danger
We dance as if there is nothing to be afraid of
When really we are moments away from being eaten alive
And thrown aside, and no one’s going to notice!
Wouldn’t want to end up on an empty milk carton
Or on another free post it note saying “have you seen me?”
You are your greatest admirer and your worst enemy
Protect your heart, live your life, free your spirit
You have control of you.
