    Loving you Dearly

Have you ever tried going a day without the one you loved?
It’s like suffocating, grasping for air that isn’t there
When your voice seems as distant as a fading echo
And your face is a disappearing image in my mind
I want to find you and hold you close
Whisper in your ear that I never dream of letting go
I am holding onto something real
     I am holding onto you!
A closeness like this makes it difficult to stray too far from your presence
The farthest I can tolerate being from you
Is the space between each beat of my heart
You offer serenity when we are together
The depth of your eyes, freezes all my scattered racing thoughts
The softness of your lips is a luscious subtlety
Only by your hands do I receive neurological pulsing sensations
My only thought is of you, my thoughts are of you!
You take my troubled mind and calm it
Take my heart and build it with yours
Spend a lifetime by my side
     My heart is yours

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
