Love Loss

Love Loss

Your words, not mine, are lethal to the sound
Shoot to kill and hope your aim is precise
If I could bleed out these bullets
I’d force them to surface and push them out
After it’s over would I know how to feel?
With a heart that’s been cleansed of its lead contaminate
Let new blood rush to fill its new place
If it comes too fast I might faint
If it comes to slow I may be heartless
With the holes clotted and now healing
It’s time to redesign this heart
Pull on the heart strings and hope for church bells to sound
A communion with mind body and soul await the renewal process
Detach the chords that strum this beating drum
Oh the sounds of the beating drum!
Dance to the rhythm of a beating heart!
It says the things your tongue can’t wrap words around
Reform! It will shrink for protections sake
And grow so lonely behind the walls it built
But the past is no longer part of your future
Forget and let go and remember this simple saying;
To love is to hurt, to hurt is to feel loss
To feel loss you must put yourself out there
By doing so you will have lived, by living you will have loved
