Poem Commentary

I wrote this after I lost my dad.

Loss

Daddy, today is filled with such sorrow,
The pain from which is not borrowed.
The loss I feel runs deep,
From here I must take a blind leap.
I must believe I will see you,
From now on the world takes on a different hue.
A world filled with greys' and blues',
But we all must pay this heavy due.
You were taken from me too soon,
My sorrows, I shall sing underneath the new moon.
From now on, I shall mourn your loss,
Never again shall I be cross.
Daddy, I just want one more day,
To be your little girl, so we can play.
I need you by my side,
In who else can I confide?

Thank you for reading my poem. And thank you for the kind words. God indeed is great in his knowlege and wisdom, and he alone knows the how and why.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
