Loyalty Broken

08/17/2010

Look into her pleading eyes

See reflections of his lies

Contemplating her grave she is doomed to lay

For his sins he will make her pay

Left wallowing in his pride

Haunting echos she'll leave behind

In the distance he glimpse upon her face

A faded memory of anguish he cant erase

Guilty conscience led him wrong

He was cheating all along

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
