Memories

I am grateful to the Almighty for these
   memories,
'Though each one comes with a tear,
   BUT LET THEM COME ANYWAY.
Thats a price one pays pay for youthful
   folly.

A very short segment of my time-line
But God bless the day we met,

And I cherish those precious moments
   we shared.

Your family accepted me and showed
   me true love.

   We laughed together...

   We played together...

   We played rough sometimes...

   Regretfully remembered one moment
   you cried.

   We walked together...

Long, long walks from Hendon, through
   Salt spring, Montego Heights...

   We had picnics...

Crystal Spring, Rose Hall, Annie's tomb...
Some other private great house I now
   forget...

   We hugged...

   We kissed ...

   We quarrelled...

I'll give an arm for even one of those
moments of discord, Provided you'd have
   me again with one arm...

   I was  jealous of B___g
when he played on his guitar for you...

We LOVED each other then...and I shall
CHERISH those memories to the end of
   my days

   Though true love may seperate............
    It never dies.

Good thoughts running through the words. Men do not always express it.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
