    More Like You,Less Like Me

    Lord,forgive me when I complain

About the things I do not have.

And rejoice in the things I do,

Help me remember that they are all gifts from you.

Lord, forgive me of a bad attitude,

Please remember Lord,I am but only human.

I'm not perfect, just trying to be more like you,

Somedays I look in the mirror.

    Lord,I don't like what I see,

A girl so full of anger and pain.

    Help me Lord,help me......

To be more like you, less like me,

Give me a heart that's warm.

    Through every storm,

    Take me away from me.

Help me be more like you,

And a lot less than like me.

    Make my heart your home,

Make my life a candle burning bright.

    Take my hands,Lord,as mighty workers,

Lead my feet, where you would have them go.

Use my mouth to spread your word,

    I empty my cup,

So you may fill it up,

Oh Lord,so I can only be.......

    More like you,less like me,

Give me a heart that's warm

    Through every storm,

    Take me away from me

Help me be more like you,

And a lot less than like me.

    Oh breath of Heaven

    Come and fill me

    Make me more like you,

    Less like me.........

I want to be more like you,Lord!!!!

I see the desperation here, but I also see hope amidst the sadness. Whatever your religious background, none can truly find divinity unless they first find themselves ;) Keep searching, and keep using your writing as a tool and as a weapon, for you wield it beautifully. Another deserving 10.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
