Precious Lamb

Precious Lamb

Two tiny hands wrapped around mine,
Four little feet right next to mine,
Standing there in the crowded line.
Looking up at me,
They could clearly see,
My overwhelming saddness,
Yet the joy there was to be.
As with questions,
They tugged at ny shirt tail,
While I began to tell them,
Of a love without fail,
"Who is that Man Momma just up ahead?"
I knealt down craddeling them in my arms, and replied,
"My sweet children, that is the Precious Lamb."
"Momma, why from His body does He bleed?"
I took a deep breath,
Looked to the Heavens and replied,
"Because, you see, that's the price to set us free."

AMEN and AMEN...............................................................

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
