My Dear Brother

Poem Commentary

I hope ye'll like this, fremented in me head for a bloomin' month.

My Dear Brother

We don't agree on everything, we don't always get along,
But if you thing it means a thing, you couldn't be more wrong,
I know I gave you trouble, I know I gave you grief,
But I'd like to think you enjoyed my company, no matter how brief,

Everytime I needed you, I would look around,
No matter how much time had passed, I knew where you'd be found,
Always right behind me, keeping me from falling back,
Helping me to not trip, when my balance I did lack,

Never there as an obstacle, but rather as a goal,
To reach and to surpass you, is what I strive for from the soul,
Yet it's a friendly competition, one I'm sure someday I'll win,
I can't give up my dream now, I feel it would be a sin,

So I will carry on now, keeping you in my heart and mind,
Look here and I hope you'll find,
The truth that has been hidden, for oh so many years,
You are one of the few, who my heart holds very dear.

A brothers love is unique in so many endearing and splendid vibrant ways, nicely written

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
