    My Father Is . . .

    My moon in the morning.
    My sun at night.
    My flowers in the winter.
    My snow in the spring.
Yes my father is... my everything.

He brightens up all of my purple days.
Even though he is far away.
Yes my father is... my everything.

He has hurt me in many ways.
But I cant turn my back on him.
    Or at least not today.
Because right now my father is... my everything.

I have grown to understand and except all of his big and
    minor faults
and as long has he still gives me respect,
he will be my one, only and everything.
YES MY FATHER IS... MY EVERYTHING!

nice work... It made me think of my parents... Yes both of them... I didn't always agree with what they said or how they handled everything at times.... But what they both tought me is a true blessing in my life....

That is a sweet thing to say about your dad. We all have our faults. Always b there for him and do what is right. That is da christian way. I love this poem and it is a good one. Keep on writing and sharing with others.

Nice tribute. Well put. It is important to be able to forgive and remember parents are human too.

It is very special that you have a good relationship with your father. My father passed away a few years ago and I have many regrets there. Listen to the song "Everything I Own" by Bread when you get a chance and you will understand my meaning.

I wish my father had the same value to me. But he doesn't. But I'm happy that someone has some happiness with their family. Great imagery, and great sentiment. Well done.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
