    My Little Pixie

    The beauty of your memory

    is etched inside my heart.

    I feel such pain and suffering

    since we’ve been forced apart.

    Your loveliness is magical,

    your beauty so immense.

    How I could love a woman so much,

    never has made any sense.

    I’ve never experienced love

    the way I have with you,

    The way you’ve made me feel;

    so exotic, so wild, so new.

    You ask me do I think of you?

    Every hour, every day.

    I long to be with you so much,

    but these bars stand in the way.

    I want to take you in my arms

    and protect you from all harm.

    I love you little pixie.

    You’re my special lucky charm.

    I hope that you can handle

    all my crazy ways;

    Just know I’ll always love you,

    and I’ll come for you someday.

    Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
