    My wings have been shattered

     My wings have been shattered
    By people who tormented me as if it didnt even matter

    Because I was different the kid with the red hair
    Some people acted like I wasnt even there

    Like I didnt exist or was some sort of ghost
    The clown show was in town and I was the host

    Being bullied in school well before it was a big deal
    Just drained my self worth and I began not to feel

    Try to climb the social ladder
    but my wings would be shattered

    The years went on and being tormented and teased
    I felt like everyone hated me and the devil was pleased

    No one ever stood up for me or lent me a hand
    I was the lost soul in the sand

    As I got older I realized the scars ran deeper than I thought
    I fell into their trap and I was caught

    The trap was to break you down and make you feel worthless
    Like running down an endless alley trying to make it hurt less

    I used humor to hide my pain and its a short term solution
    It was time to start a revolution

    So anyone out there that feels the way I did listen
    Stand up and be yourself let yourself shine and your eyes glisten

    They cant take away your dreams
    Make them here your screams

    Being different is a gift that should not be wasted
    Show them who you are and the sweetness shall be tasted

    People that pick on you are afraid of you and they have their own issues
    Walk on by them and throw them a tissue

    They are craving the attention they will get madder
    Dont let your wings get shattered

    Never change who you are you make the world go round
    With your wings you can fly the others will just drown

    It may be too late for me but this message is for the younger generation
    Be strong never lose your determination

    After all the teasing and insults have been traded
    My heart was jaded

    Built up walls to keep people out
    I also locked myself away and couldnt shout

    Fly free climb the ladder
    and remember your wings cant be shattered

    Be who you are not what others want you to be
    and your wings will carry you to a place where you will be free

    Being who you are is all that matters
    For me well my wings have been shattered
