Ode to my Father
When a man's existence ceasesAnd his life beyond begins
Those left behind, must carry on
And prove their faith in him.
God giveth and he taketh
His reasons hard to see
But he leaves us with his blessings
On the wings of memory....
Ode to my Father
When a man's existence ceasesA poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.
Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
